The Sun City Woodshop has acquired two new woodturning lathes.  The smaller lathe is suitable for turning pens, small bowls, and craft projects.  The new Powermatic lathe is a professional machine capable of turning pieces up to 20 inches in diameter and 3 feet long.  Both lathes share all the accessories needed for almost any woodturning project.

Additionally, we have started a Woodturning Special Interest Group within the Woodshop to teach proper woodturning techniques and to promote turning as a creative medium.  Come to our meetings on the first Saturday of each month.  We meet in the Woodshop at 10 am.

Classes for beginning and advanced turners are offered.  You can learn to make projects like these –
